Health : Please enquire from your general medical practitioner what vaccinations you might require for South Africa. While our tour route is generally malaria free, the Kruger National Park does from time to time release malaria alerts, so again seek the advice of your GP. Also, please inform us if you are on medication or suffer health problems. We do carry a comprehensive First Aid kit on all our tours.
Insurance: All travelers are responsible for their own insurance. This is important. It is recommended that your insurance should cover cancellations, medical costs, personal liability and personal accident cover, including repatriation by air ambulance. Please provide us with details of your insurance scheme including policy number and contact details. Please note that credit card travel insurance is inadequate.
Liability: My South Africa Tour and its employees will not be held responsible for death or injury to person or property resulting from weather conditions, natural disasters, industrial action, intervention by governments, robbery, assault, fire, drowning, the actions of wild life or the actions of agents providing goods and services for My South Africa Tour or its clients. My South Africa Tour carries the required public liability cover through a SATSA registered broker, while our SATSA registered vehicle charter company carries the required passenger liability cover.
Baggage: While the maximum airline baggage limit is usually 20-25 kg per person, we encourage our travelers to limit their baggage weight to maximum 15 kg per person. Pack light clothing for summer (Oct-Mar) tours, a rain coat, good walking shoes, sandals, a torch, binoculars, swim suit, hat and sun screen (We provide beach mats, beach towels and umbrellas). Pack a medium sweater and wind breaker for winter (Apr-Sep) tours. KwaZulu-Natal summers are hot and humid, averaging 28 deg Celsius, while winter temperatures average 23 deg Celsius. Indian Ocean temperatures average 22 deg Celsius in summer and 19 deg Celsius in winter.
