Week 3 Itinerary
Day 15 A free day which can be taken up lazing on the beautiful Ramsgate beach, trawling through the richly stocked antique shops a short walk away, or just relaxing at Duzamanzi or the Blue Lagoon pub, which is situated right on the beachfront. We all meet at Ramsgate beach for sundowner drinks and a beach barbecue. (B+S)

Day 16 A morning outing to a nearby coffee plantation is planned, where you will be guided through the entire coffee-making process. Lunch will be taken at one of the lovely restaurants located on this tropical coast road. The afternoon is free at Duzamanzi. The plantation trip is optional, if the Ramsgate beach is more tempting. Day 17 A souvenir shopping day is planned at Shelly Beach mall. We will have a pub lunch at Manaba on our return to Ramsgate. You may however wish to remain beach combing at Ramsgate, the choice is yours. We all meet at Ramsgate beach anyway for sun downer drinks and chat through plans for our early departure the next day for the Drakensberg Mountains. (B+S) |

Day 18 Depart for the Drakensberg (Dragon) Mountains with its superlative natural phenomena and beauty, rich biological diversity and over 35,000 San (Bushman) rock art images. Lunch at Himeville Inn followed by a relaxing 2.5 hr afternoon stroll to Monk and Sleeping Beauty Caves. Dinner at Himeville Inn. (B+L+S)

Drakensberg Mountains

Day 19 Early rise and after a good breakfast we’ll head off on a 3 hr moderate hike through the Hidden Valley enjoying crisp mountain air and beautiful scenery. We’ll take lunch packs with us. Return early afternoon to relax at Underberg Inn with a drink and view of the Berg. Barbecue dinner. (B+L)

Day 20 Early breakfast followed by a fair 3 hr hike to Emerald Stream. The walk is through fertile country with a magnificent view of the Giants Cup. We’ll return to Underberg Inn for lunch before returning to Ramsgate late afternoon. Dinner is planned at the Blue Lagoon restaurant. (B+L)

Day 23 You arrive Oslo Gardermoen Airport arround midday on a connecting flight from Europe.

Note: Stays beyond Day 23 are most welcome. The rate for Duzamanzi is R450 per day, although all meals will be self-catering. A hired car for around R 200 per day can be arranged for your own exploration of this rich coastal region. Your guide will be available to ensure your safe return to Norway.
