Week 2 Itinerary
Day 8 Early departure and game drive along the rich Timbavati river section, where large groups of antelope congregate, usually watched by a pride of lion. We will stop at the impressive Olifants river view site, before arriving at the scenic Olifants camp for lunch. An afternoon game drive is optional, unless you choose rather to sip gin and tonic at the camp’s spectacular view point over the African plains.
Restaurant dinner. (B+S)

Day 9 Morning drive to the beautiful Letaba camp, near to which leopard, ostrich and cheetah may be seen. We will have a late breakfast on the lovely patio overlooking the Letaba river, which is usually populated with giraffe. We can relax with a drink under the camp’s huge Tamboti trees during the heat of the day before a final afternoon game drive which should give views of any of the Big Five beasts not already seen. We end the day with a barbecue under African skies. (B+S)

Day 10 After an early breakfast we leave Letaba camp, and the Kruger Park, for the Blyde River Canyon and its spectacular view of the three ‘Rondawels’, and then onto the equally beautiful Bourke’s Luck potholes with its strange formations of eroded rock. Lunch and the rest of afternoon at the artists’ town of Graskop. We may take a drive to God’s Window view site of the lowland and to the Berlin Falls. Otherwise expect a festive evening at Graskop’s famous Coach Inn restaurant and pub. (B+S)

We’ll take pack-lunches and have a picnic in the reserve. Return late afternoon to Pigg’s Peak, where we spend a second night. (B+L)

Day 14 Depart Swaziland for Zululand, still rich in its traditions. We’ll stop over at a Zulu community centre, where hand made art in traditional style is for sale, along with a range of the region’s fruits. Arrive at Duzamanzi, your beautiful beach-view home at Ramsgate on the Zululand south coast, by late afternoon, where you will spend the next four nights.
