Itinerary Week 1
 

Day 1 A travel day departing Oslo Gardermoen early afternoon for a European connection to Johannesburg.

 

Waterbuck, Kruger Park
Day 2 Arrive Johannesburg International early morning, depart for Mpumalanga province with a mid-morning drinks break at Dullstroom town. We’ll cross the misty Long Tom pass before arriving at the artists’ town of Sabie for lunch. The afternoon is free to rest up or stroll through the town with its colorful selection of art and coffee shops. Restaurant dinner and evening at Sabie. (L+S)
 
Day 3 After breakfasting at Sabie we’ll make an early morning stop at the beautiful Mac Mac waterfalls before visiting the 19th Century historical gold mining town of Pilgrims Rest, where we will also have lunch. We will spend the afternoon at the nearby Bridal Veil waterfalls including the lovely Lourie Walk around the falls. Dinner and evening at Sabie. (B+L+S)
 

Day 4 Early departure for Kruger National Park, where we will have breakfast at Skukuza camp before going on a lengthy game-view drive to Satara camp, with a lunch stop-over at Tshokwane picnic site. We’ll arrive at Satara early evening. Expect to see elephant, hippopotamus, various antelope, zebra, monkeys, many bird species, giraffe and possibly even lion and rhinoceros on this route. (B+S)

 

Day 5 Early morning game drive to N’Wanetsi picnic site, a stone throw from the Mozambique border, where we will have an outdoor English breakfast on the grill. Large herds of wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and impala should be seen on the route, while lion, elephant and possibly leopard are also likely. Return to Satara where we can relax before an afternoon game drive to the Nsemani dam where buffalo, lion and black-backed jackal might be seen. Evening barbeque at Satara. (B+S)

Day 6 Early departure and game drive along the rich Timbavati river section, where large groups of antelope congregate, usually watched by a pride of lion. We will stop on the impressive Olifants river viewsite, before arriving at the scenic Olifants camp for lunch. An afternoon game drive is planned, unless you choose rather to sip gin and tonic at the camp’s spectacular view point over the African plains. Restaurant dinner. (B+S)

 

Day 7 Morning drive to the beautiful Letaba camp, near to which leopard, ostrich and cheetah may be seen. A late breakfast on the lovely patio overlooking the Letaba river, where giraffe usually drink. We can relax with a drink under the camp’s huge Tamboti trees during the heat of the day before a final afternoon game drive which should give views of any of the Big Five beasts not already seen earlier. We end the day with a Letaba camp barbecue under the African skies. (B+S)
